Town Services

  • The Town of Wien Hall is available for rent. Please contact the Town Chairman to book your rental.  A payment of $105 for Residents and $130 for non-residents is required.  This payment includes a refundable $50 cleaning deposit.  The deposit will be returned if the Hall is left in good condition following an inspection. Returned deposit checks generally are issued at the town meeting following the rental month.

  • The Town of Wien does not offer any services for garbage disposal.  Residents are encouraged to contact a waste management provider directly.
  • The Town of Wien offers a recycling service at the old town garage located at the corner of Highway N and M.  Recycling can be dropped off during recycling hours.  Current recycling hours are every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 8AM – 12PM or earlier if the bins are filled.
  • Help the Town of Wien keep our roads safe.
  • If you see any washouts or debris on the road such as trees or powerlines, please contact the Town Chairman or the Town Supervisors asap.
  • In the event of an emergency, please contact 911.
  • The Town of Wien offers dust control sprayed on township roads.  
  • Residents must contact the Town Chairman each year to have it applied.
  • Please call before April 1st to ensure you are listed to order the application.
  • Cost is determined each year through a bidding process and is applied during the spring based on weather and supplier schedules.
  • The Town of Wien will send out an invoice to each resident that ordered the application.  Residents are encouraged to pay the invoice within 30 days to avoid late fees.

  • The Town of Wien and the Town of Frankfort jointly manage a nondenominational cemetery.

    The cemetery was established in 1880 when the land was purchased from Johann & Albertine Borchardt on Dec. 8, 1880, for $60.00. There were 5 burials already on the land before it was purchased. On Dec. 30, 1889, the Town of Wien and the Town of Frankfort agreed to jointly establish the Town Cemetery. In the early years, all town residents were buried here until the church cemeteries were established. Even after the church cemeteries became available, some residents still chose to be buried at this cemetery. Over the years the number of burials slowed with only one in 1979, one in 1987 and the most recent one in 2024.

    Today, the adjoining farmland is owned by a direct descendant, Jason (Penny) Borchardt. The Townships' partnership continues with caring for the grounds and periodically repairing and straightening gravestones as needed. In 2026 a sign was commissioned and erected by the Townships.
